Zusammenfassung:Fiber-reinforced epoxy resins can be used as structural element for the cryogenic support because of their good balance of elastic modulus, mechanical strength, low electrical and thermal conductivity, ease of fabrication and low induced radioactivity. The paper presents some solutions for the design of the Central Support Cylinder of the magnet system of the FINTOR-DEMO Fusion Reactor and discusses their relative merits.
