Zusammenfassung: | The steady-state distribution of absorbed hydrogen in a metal wire subject to an applied potential difference is examined using a mean-field interacting lattice gas model. Our analysis suggests that the electric field can lead to the formation of a distinct phase boundary, the location of which can be shifted by altering the applied potential difference. Illustrative computed results are given for the palladium-hydrogen system. |
