Umbilical arterial endocan levels can predict early neonatal pneumonia: A prospective case control study

•We found high serum Endocan levels in the pneumonia group in newborns with the diagnosis of tachypnea.•Umbilical Artery pH measured at birth was not different between groups.•There was no difference between 1st and 5th minute APGAR scores of the newborns in the groups.
