Zusammenfassung:Growth shapes of benzophenone crystals and their kinetics were studied upon crystallization from the melt in a wide range of supercoolings, Δ T = 0–80 K. Within the whole Δ T range studied, benzophenone crystals were found to be faceted. The experimental kinetics agree well with the theory of layer-by-layer growth up to Δ T = 35 K. When Δ T is more than 35 K the experimental data do not agree with theory, which may be due to the lack of an adequate model to describe the processes of particle transition during crystallization and viscous flow.
