Zusammenfassung:The publisher in Japan made a phone call to me about ten years ago and asked me to translate, but I said that the first volume is too immense for me alone to translate in a few years. Most of the readers of literary works in Japan think of Mark Twain as a novelist of childrens books. Among the members of the Kansai Mark Twain Circle, we have read and discussed all the volumes of Twain's letters published by the UC Press in book form and through the Internet, for about twenty-five years.
