Zusammenfassung:The present study investigated the prevalence of Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium, M. hominis, and Ureaplasma spp. (biovars 1 and 2) in Japanese HIV-positive men who have sex with men (MSM). One-hundred-and-six Japanese HIV-infected MSM patients were enrolled. Anal and urine samples were collected and DNA testing for each microorganism was performed. Questionnaires regarding lifestyle habits and sexual behavior were administered. The prevalence of N. gonorrhoeae, C. trachomatis, M. genitalium, M. hominis, and Ureaplasma spp. in the anus was 5.6%, 8.9%, 4.4%, 5.6%, and 8.9%, respectively. A history of genital warts was an independent risk factor for detection of Mycoplasma spp. and Ureaplasma spp. The prevalence of these microorganisms in the anus of asymptomatic Japanese HIV-positive MSM was relatively high in agreement with previous reports from other countries.
