Zusammenfassung:Shubnikov--de Haas experiments on p-type Hg sub 1--x Cd sub x Te (x = 0.165 to 0.29) give values for bulk concentration and mobility, conductivity variations and close agreement with theory of subband populations. Procedures using metallized mylar film insulation and indium electrode over evaporated ZnS are outlined. Graphs show second derivative of magnetoresistance vs. magnetic field and compare experimental and theoretical variation of subband populations. Numbers of observed subbands are tabled for ten x-values. 13 ref.--J.V.R.
