Zusammenfassung:The effects of hydrogen on fatigue crack propagation are studied and compared with the effects observed earlier on crack initiation. The influence of the microstructure on the H enhancement of crack propagation is also discussed. SAE 1045 steel is used. It is shown that crack growth under fatigue conditions can be assisted by H without major effects on crack path or mode in spheroidized, pearlitic and martensitic microstructures. 16 ref.--C.J.H.
