Zusammenfassung:A 34-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of dyspnea. An antibody differentiation assay confirmed a diagnosis of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 infection, and chest imaging was notable for diffuse ground-glass opacities. After treatment for Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia was initiated, acute abdominal pain developed. A diagnostic procedure was performed.
