Carbon monoxide emission from planetary nebulae and their possible precursors
A number of planetary and protoplanetary nebulae have been searched for J = 1-0 CO emission. The protoplanetaries generally show very weak (C-13)O emission and the resultant ((C-12)O) /((C-13)O) values are consistent with post-main sequence evolution. No (C-12)O was found in four planetary nebulae,...

Zusammenfassung: | A number of planetary and protoplanetary nebulae have been searched for J = 1-0 CO emission. The protoplanetaries generally show very weak (C-13)O emission and the resultant ((C-12)O) /((C-13)O) values are consistent with post-main sequence evolution. No (C-12)O was found in four planetary nebulae, and it is argued that the high mass loss rate in NGC 7027 explains its relatively strong millimeter wave emission. |
