Clinical Performance and Physical Properties of 12 Amalgam Alloys
Twelve dental amalgam alloys were tested to determine the relationship between creep, the classical physical properties and the clinical performance of the alloys. The 12 alloys were: Dispersalloy, Tytin, Sybraloy, Optaloy Indiloy, Velvalloy, 20th Century Fine Cut, Caulks Spherical, Shofu, 20th Cent...

Zusammenfassung: | Twelve dental amalgam alloys were tested to determine the relationship between creep, the classical physical properties and the clinical performance of the alloys. The 12 alloys were: Dispersalloy, Tytin, Sybraloy, Optaloy Indiloy, Velvalloy, 20th Century Fine Cut, Caulks Spherical, Shofu, 20th Century Micro, and an experimental high-Cu all-spherical alloy. Dispersalloy, Indiloy and the experimental alloy performed best in the clinical tests. Correlations were found between the clinical performance and creep, flow and 24 h compressive strength. No significant correlation was obtained between the clinical performance and 15 min or 1 h compressive strength, 15 min, 1 h or 24 h. diametral tensile strength, or dimensional change.13 refs.--D.O.N. |
