Beginning in 2008, direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs) began to replace warfarin. Although the DOACs had a greater safety profile, approved reversal agentsfor use in emergent/excessive hemorrhage did not exist. This course reviews the perioperative management of the DOACs.
