Zusammenfassung:According to the World Health Organization, the global prevalence of obesity has tripled since 1975. Despite diet being a key strategy for reducing overweight and obesity across the life course, interindividual responses to dietary patterns and individual nutrients may also have an important impact on obesity risk and treatment. Another key factor in the response to diet is host gut microbiota composition, which also has implications in obesity. Here, Ortega-Santos and Whisner highlight Christensen et al's study evaluating the impact of gut microbial enterotypes on weight loss in response to a high-fiber diet.
