Zusammenfassung:The composition of atmospheric particulate matter collected in the Tucson, Ariz., area is examined by pattern recognition and factor analysis. Cluster analysis shown silicon, titanium, cesium, lithium, rubidium, aluminum, krypton, iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, strontium, cobalt, and chromium to be primarily of soil origin. Relative to a remote desert location, all elements measured show an enrichment in urban particulates.
