] with phenylacetylene and 1,1-dimethylallene are presented. A vinyl plumbylene was isolated in the case of the alkyne reaction exhibiting a down field NMR signal for the CH unit attached to the low valent heavy atom. 1,1-Dimethylallene affords formation of an allyl plumbylene.
