Zusammenfassung: | Concentrations of Nitrous and Nitric Acids in Rural Regions A contribution to subproject BIATEX-2 R. Zimmerling and U. Dammgen Federal Agricultural Research Center Braunschweig-Volkenrode, Institute for Agroecology, Bundesallee 50, 38116 Braunschweig, Germany Nitrous acid (HONO) and nitric acid (HONO:) are major components of the atmospheric nitrogen cycle. Although this has been known for about 20 years there is still a lack of reliable long-time measurements of their concentrations in ambient air. However, this is a prerequisite for the establishment and the validation of both air chemistry and deposition models. It is widely accepted that fluxes of HONO: into natural systems cannot be neglected. Only few measurements of HONO fluxes are available. Photochemistry models have to consider that the photolysis of HONO is an important source of OH radicals. Sites and measuring periods We have carrie |
