Although this has been known for about 20 years there is still a lack of reliable long-time measurements of their concentrations in ambient air. However, this is a prerequisite for the establishment and the validation of both air chemistry and deposition models. It is widely accepted that fluxes of HONO: into natural systems cannot be neglected. Only few measurements of HONO fluxes are available.
