On the dispersion relation for electrostatic waves in warm, non-uniform, non-magnetized plasmas
A technique which avoids expanding the distribution function has been employed with some success in the study of wave propagation in a number of situations. In this paper, the general technique is described and is then applied to a particular case by way of example.
