Zusammenfassung: | In this work it is proposed a finite-difference numerical scheme, valid for supercritical flows, with the introduction of pseudo-viscosity to avoid numerical oscillations in the solution of dam-break wave routing. In order to keep the computed variable values under control, the pseudo-viscosity method is introduced by two ways: through abrupt variations on the Manning roughness coefficient, for each discrete time step, as well for each simulated section, and through local head loss. Since the flow is considered supercritical it is sufficient to prescribe the boundary conditions at the upstream limit, in this case the dam, that is subjected to a hypothetical almost instantaneous failure. The case study is the Funil dam, located at the Paraiba do |
