Hazardous waste management educating industrial communities in Egypt

Hazardous waste management is in its initial stages in Egypt. In this regard, the need to develop awareness and capacities has been identified as a priority, particularly for the industrial establishments, constituting a major contributor to HW generation nationally. Delivery of capacity building programs for HW management to these communities has led to the development of a methodology suited to the particularities of this area in Egypt, ensuring both the effectiveness and success of these programs. Based on accumulated experience in this regard, an educational CD has also been developed. The elements of this methodology are presented, followed by an overall description of the CD.
