Zusammenfassung:Distal radius and ulna fractures are common injuries in children. Fractures typically involve the distal radius and ulna metaphysis or physis or a combination of the 2. The goals of treatment are aimed at achieving satisfactory anatomic alignment within defined parameters based on growth remaining. Nonoperative treatment approaches are recommended for most fractures, whereas surgical intervention is indicated for select cases. Potential issues with skeletal growth and bone remodeling are common. This article will offer evidence- and experience-based pearls regarding common closed fractures of the distal radius and ulna intended to benefit the community orthopaedic surgeon caring for children during the course of their on-call duties.
