Among other things, she claims that the challenges that face public schools today will not disappear anytime soon. Poverty, literacy, and life experience all affect student success in school and the future; however, when a school is committed to using these challenges as opportunities rather than excuses, the instructional process can focus on thought-provoking instruction, higher states test scores and a total integration of literacy skills.
