Zusammenfassung: | Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has been evaluated as a tool to assess retinal changes in various neurodegenerative disorders. Parkinson's disease (PD), is a neurodegenerative disorder wherein dopaminergic deficiency results in some of the symptoms. As retina also has high concentration of dopamine, it would be of interest for both the clinician as well as the basic scientist to know if there is a correlation between the clinical features and the retinal changes. The objective of this review is to critically evaluate the literature and study the utility of OCT as a tool to evaluate retinal changes in PD. |
