Mössbauer investigation of radio frequency striction vibrations in magnetic alloys

Mössbauer spectra of different magnetic alloys (Vicalloy, Permalloy, Invar, etc.) have been studied in an external radio frequency (r.f.) field. The analysis of the intensity of the side‐bands appearing in the spectra at r.f. pumping is shown to give new information about the spreading and relaxation of ultrasound, the changes of the r.f. magnetostriction due to the ordering processes, and the anisotropy of the crystal.
