Blank's Burden of Dreams has the distinction of being the first of these productions to question the ethics of sensationalist illusion-making-the first to exhibit a political consciousness about invading other cultures and risking lives in the service of "art," yet still be able to declare itself more entertaining than the feature it was born of. |
