In previous studies [3,4] higher simplified acute physiology score (SAPS II) and sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) on the day of VAP onset are proven to be prognostic factors and are associated with high mortality. [1] concluded that respiratory tract infections assocaited with MV caused by Acinetobacter occur mainly in patients with prolonged hospitalization but there is no data regarding ICU LOS in their study.
