Contribution to the classical theory of solids with statistical structural characteristics

A formulation of the theory in the terminology of functional analysis is considered. This approach makes it possible to obtain a very condensed and lucid representation of the subject material. However, the resulting expressions are not very suitable for the solution of practical problems. Such solutions can more conveniently be found with a formulation on the basis of correlation functions. Cases of the application of such a formulation to the analysis of specific problems are discussed.
