But the excavations for the new mill, which had been undertaken the week preceding Mr. Van Alstyne's seizure, were discontinued and the laborers engaged on them paid and sent away. Paul Murray acted in this on the advice of Judge Mount, who made a flying visit to the village and spent most of the time between two trains at the bedside of his client. |
