The air was heavy, either with the promise of unshed snow-- which would not be so bad a thing to be caught in, thought the girl-- or, possibly, with the sharp, disagreeable needles of sleet and hail. But she was in the mood to be venturesome in any case. She was thoroughly dissatisfied with herself and with things in general, for reasons into which she did not care to look too curiously. |
