Zusammenfassung: | Sifferlin discusses how uterus transplants can greatly affect the lives of women suffering from Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome, which means she was born without a uterus. Though she had functioning ovaries, there was no way she could get pregnant or carry a baby. In Nov 2017, the first baby born in the US to a mom with a transplanted uterus was delivered at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Baylor wasn't the first US hospital to attempt a uterus transplant. Other hospitals in Brazil are making history too for being the first baby born from a uterus from a deceased donor and had been delivered successfully. |
