Zusammenfassung:In our Series paper, we do not compare the two funding programmes, especially given that the terms of reference and methodology for the two reports are not available for peer review. Baijayanta Mukhopadhyay and colleagues argue that we have not been sufficiently critical in our overview analysis of Canada's contributions to global health (and indeed ill health) over time.1 Our approach was to introduce this topic to an unfamiliar audience, defining the broad parameters of Canadian global health activities, and briefly present aspirations, achievements, and ongoing challenges. Other than selected biomedical innovations listed in panel 1 of our Series paper, we primarily focus on how policies (within and outside the health sector), governance, and funding have influenced Canada's contributions to global health over time.
