Zusammenfassung: | As part of a Navy prospective clinical investigation on recovery from photo-refractive keratectomy (PRK), the postoperative corneal-healing process was modeled using Orbscan pachymetry. Accounting for diurnal variation, corneal thickness maps were obtained from 18 subjects prior to their PRK surgery, immediately after surgery, and weekly for 8 weeks thereafter. Analysis of the data suggest that the post-PRK corneal healing response occurs over a time-period much longer than has been indicated by visual recovery indices. |
