Monocular distance visual acuity versus add power in bifocal contact lenses

To determine how bifocal addition power affects monocular distance visual acuity with Vistakon ACUVUE bifocal contact lenses, 22 young normally sighted subjects were fit monocularly with such lenses. A multi-factorial experimental design was used to determine distance visual acuity measured to the single letter with repeated measures on add power, light level, and Bailey-Lovie chart contrast.
