Diagnostic imaging in the non-operative management of blunt splenic trauma in children

Fifty one pediatric patients suffering from blunt abdominal trauma were studied. All were diagnosed with splenic injury by computed tomography (CT). The mechanism of injury was motor vehicle and bicycle accidents, and falls. Forty seven out of forty nine patients were followed by ultrasound after initial diagnosis on CT.
