Zusammenfassung:The carcinogenic potential of new products of Man-Made(Vitreous) fibers (MMVFs) is sufficiently predicted by measuring concentrations and size distributions of fibrous powders and aerosols, by determining the chemical solubility of well selected fiber samples and by evaluating their free radical production activities. These three parameters are defined by means of partial carcinogenicity factors. As a result, the total carconigenicity factor of a mineral fiber probe appears as a product of the three partial carcinogenicity factors.
