Case Characteristics
An 8-year-old male child presented to the emergency department with clinical features of peritonitis, raising suspicion of appendicular or small bowel perforation.
Intervention/Outcome
Diagnosis of chylous ascites with primary intestinal lymphangiectasia made on laparotomy.
