Zusammenfassung:Pomella et al express appreciation to Mynard et al for their interest in their work which focuses on noninvasive assessment of hemodynamics with exercise. The paper explores the experimental protocol involving measurement of carotid ultrasound and blood pressure during exercise at incremental workloads up to 70% of peak and during recovery. They conclude that in the absence of direct comparable measurements of c in the carotid artery during exercise and the lack of evidence of a backward decompression wave existing in early systole, the lnDU-loop technique should not be claimed to increase c.
