Minimally Invasive versus Abdominal Radical Hysterectomy for Cervical Cancer

In this prospective randomized trial, minimally invasive radical hysterectomy resulted in lower rates of disease-free survival and overall survival than open abdominal radical hysterectomy among women with early-stage cervical cancer. Zusammenfassung:In this prospective randomized trial, minimally invasive radical hysterectomy resulted in lower rates of disease-free survival and overall survival than open abdominal radical hysterectomy among women with early-stage cervical cancer. A prospective randomized trial and an epidemiologic study that used large cancer databases (National Cancer Database and SEER) both showed that minimally invasive radical hysterectomy was associated with shorter survival in early cervical cancer than open abdominal radical hysterectomy.
