Zusammenfassung:Ustanciosporium appendiculatum was collected on Rhynchospora exserta from northern Western Australia in May 2009. The identification is based on morphological and sequence data which are presented for the first time. This is the first report of this smut fungus outside North America. Rhynchospora exserta is a new host species for this smut fungus.
