Zusammenfassung: | PL 751 (1C 547038) is six-rowed feed barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety developed from a cross K 266/PL 426 by the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana and released by the Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of Variety for Agricultural Crops' vide Notification No. S.O. 122 (E) dated 6 super(th) February, 2007. The parent K 266 is an advanced breeding line developed at CSA University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur and possesses high degree of resistance to black rust. The other parent, PL 426 is a released cultivar for Punjab state and developed at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. The PL 426 is a high yielding cultivar with resistance to leaf blight and powdery mildew. The segregating generations of cross K 266/PL 426 were handled by pedigree selection method under irrigated conditions with artificial epiphytotic disease conditions. The 'Variety identification Committee' identified this variety during the 45 super(th) All India Wheat & Barley Research Workers' Meet' held from August 18-21, 2006 at CSA University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur for timely sown irrigated conditions of the central zone of India covering the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and southern parts of Rajasthan state. |
