Analgesic efficacy of ultrasound-guided modified thoracolumbar interfascial plane block performed with the use of neurophysiology monitoring for postoperative lumbar surgery

•Patients undergoing lumbar laminectomy have often carried the diagnosis of chronic pain, which makes postoperative pain management more difficult•Thoracolumbar interfascial plane block (TLIP) and modified TLIP block (mTLIP) have been done for postoperative pain control on lumbar laminectomy•If, and/or, how much the local anesthetic medication can retain in the interfasical plane after injection are still unknown•Combination of the mTLIP block and neuro- monitoring is a novel technique, it could help ensure safe nerve block placement after spine surgery
