3&cmb.macr; space group, which is unprecedented in a family of lanthanide complexes with such high nuclearity. Magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal weak intramolecular interactions between the magnetic centres, and in the case of compound

(Dy

), single-molecule magnet properties are observed.
