The first larval stage of Pachycheles chubutensis (Boschi, 1963) (Crustacea, Decapoda, Anomura) from Patagonia

Pachycheles chubutensis larvae hatch as prezoea. After 10-15 min, they moult to zoea I, with a total length of 9.50-11.90 mm. They have globose carapaces (1.6-1.8 mm length) with a rostral (length: 7.05 mm plus or minus 0.42 mm) and two posterior spines (3.10 mm length plus or minus 0.62 mm) emerging from the anterior region. The ventral margins of both rostral and caudal spines are armed with spinules. Eyes are without peduncles. The mandibles are asymmetrical with rigid spinules on the incisive and molar borders. The third maxilliped is absent. The telson presents a convex posterior margin with seven pairs of posterior processes.
