Nutritional evaluation of decapsulated cysts of five species of fairy shrimp (Branchiopoda, Anostraca) from Italy for use in larval fish rearing

Zusammenfassung:The wild cysts of five fairy shrimp species (Branchiopoda, Anostraca) from Italy were tested for their fatty acid profiles, particularly essential fatty acids (EFA), in order to obtain information on inter-species differences. Statistical comparison of the results obtained revealed significant (mostly P &lt 0.001) differences among the species studied, and seem to point also in favour of their use in feeding of larval fishes.
