Highlights • This study aimed to predict responders to treatment with the capsaicin 8% patch. • Responders had lower baseline pressure pain thresholds in affected vs control areas. • Non-responders had worse allodynia at baseline than responders. • After therapy, all patients achieved reductions in the size of the painful area.
