Zusammenfassung:Karno offers his comment on the article on the distinction between experimental laboratory studies and randomized controlled trials in the case of cognitive bias modification (CBM) and alcohol use disorders (AUD) by R. Wiers and colleagues. He says that Weirs and colleagues provide a thoughtful narrative review of the evidence base for CBM to treat alcohol AUD. He also says that their review aptly disentangles results from human laboratory studies and clinical trials, and in doing so illuminates that CBM may well be an effective adjunctive intervention to promote abstinence among individuals already in treatment for AUD.
