Zusammenfassung:	We report the most notable pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics of the antiepileptic drugs commercialised in the last four years (eslicarbazepine acetate, brivaracetam and perampanel). Their efficacy and safety are analysed in open-label clinical trials, which are the ones that reproduce their use in everyday life, without the rigid protocols used in clinical trials.
