Zusammenfassung: | Context: Static stretching has been shown to cause deficiencies in various forms of muscle recruitment. No previous studies have been conducted to determine if static stretching causes a change in mean EMG activity during a functional task requiring dynamic stability. A drop landing is a functional task requiring muscle activation to complete a movement that is similar to the actions of many athletes. Objective: To determine if static stretching, acutely or over 2 weeks, has an effect on mean pre and postlanding EMG activity during the functional action of a drop landing. |
