Zusammenfassung:Digital subtraction angiography (figure 1A–C) showed ectatic right common carotid artery, 90% ostial stenosis at the origin of the right subclavian artery with distal aneurysmal dilatation. Arch arteries are commonly involved in this disease, usually causing steno-occlusive lesions manifesting with ischaemic symptoms.3 Concomitant aneurysm formation is very rare and results from thinning of arterial wall due to inflammation causing destruction of elastic lamina and media. Aneurysms of branches of aortic arch may manifest as pulsatile swelling or be complicated by thrombosis, embolism or rupture.4 In the present case, both the involvement of the supraceliac aorta and the elimination of other possible causes in a young woman led to the diagnosis of TA.
