Urinary steroid profiling by gas chromatography mass spectrometry: Early features of malignancy in patients with adrenal incidentalomas

•Urinary steroids are studied with GC–MS after surgery in patients with adrenocortical adenomas.•Patients with ACA + malignant potential had a sensitivity and specificity of major biomarkers of ACC.•Obtained data supports the hypothesis of a possible transformation of ACA into ACC.
