Zusammenfassung:The conventional definition of fitness has historically been poorly defined and lacked utility within health and fitness practice. A brief history of the term is recounted followed by a reduction of physical fitness to its most simple elements. Based on the three basic components of physical fitness strength, endurance, mobility - a novel, applicable, and measurable definition of fitness is presented along with the underlying evidence and theory from which it is derived.
